Early Life

Superstar right fielder, Yasiel Puig was born on December 7, 1990 in Cienfuegos, Cuba.

Yasiel began playing baseball at the age of nine. At the time, he didn't own his own glove. Instead, he shared gloves with his friends and they would practice throwing long distances, making it easier for others to catch without a glove.

It is without a doubt that Yasiel's humble beginnings have contributed to the phenomenal athlete he is today.

Career

Yasiel signed a seven-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers in June 2012. He made his Major League debut on June 2, 2013.  After six years with the Dodgers organization, he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in December 2018. He was later traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2019, before becoming a free agent.

Yasiel is one of the most gifted players in Major League Baseball. His rare combination of raw power, size, speed, and incredibly strong arm make him a true 5-Tool Player. In addition to his rare skill set, Yasiel’s electric style of play and fierce competitiveness make him someone that could contribute to any club, and a player that is easy to root for.

Off The Field

Yasiel is not only larger-than-life on the field, but off the field as well.

He is dedicated to making an impact in his community through Yasiel Puig's Wild Horse Children's Foundation. He enjoys interacting with the community, especially children, and improving the quality of their lives.

Yasiel enjoys spending time with family and takes pride in being a great son and a great father to his three sons.
